CHEROKEE - The Altoona-Midway High School volleyball team found the going rough Tuesday, dropping a pair of matches in a Three Rivers League triangular held at Southeast High School in Cherokee.

During Tuesday’s triangular, the Altoona-Midway spikers were unable to generate any momentum offensively in either match. The host Southeast Lancers defeated AMHS 25- 7, 25-7, while the Oswego Indians took the measure of the Lady Jets 25-5, 25-4.

“We definitely struggled serving the ball and passing tonight,” said AMHS head coach Sharee Bertrand. “Against Southeast, we moved our feet and stayed with hit balls.

“We didn’t have as many dropped balls tonight, but we’re a young team that is still learning,” Bertrand added.

No individual stats were available for the matches.

Altoona-Midway (0-8), returns to the courts on Saturday (Sept. 12), competing in the Flinthills Invitational.
