ROSALIA - The Altoona-Midway High School volleyball team was unable to come away with any victories here Saturday as they dropped all three of their matches at the Flinthills Invitational.

Altoona-Midway, still seeking its first win of the season, lost their opener to Chaparral 25-6, 25-6; fell to Chase County 25-8, 25-7, and closed out the day with a 25-5, 25-4 defeat at the hands of the host Flinthills Mustangs.

“In the opening match, we did well passing the ball, however, we struggled getting under the "kills" or spikes,” said AMHS head coach Sharee Bertrand. “We had a little more life in us for the game against Chase County. We had much better serves, but we just struggled with their hitters.

“In the match against Flinthills, the girls struggled with their passing,” Bertrand noted. “Also, we had a couple of hurt players, but they were pushing through the pain.”

No individual stats were available.

Altoona-Midway (0-11), has a busy week upcoming with three playing dates scheduled. The Lady Jets hit the road for back-to-back triangular on Monday and Tuesday, traveling to Marais Des Cygnes Valley (Melvern) on Monday, followed by a trip to Chetopa on Tuesday.

This Saturday, Feb. 19, the AMHS squad will host a quadrangular against schools from Liberty Homeschool Alliance, CCC, and Elk Valley. First serve is slated for 9 a.m.
